Chole Mjini Lodge is quite simply one of the most unusual and special places that we know.
The lodge is owned and operated by SA/UK couple Jean and Ann de Villiers, who live here with their two children. This is not a commercially driven venture, it is a dream … a funky, romantic, cool, dysfunctional and eccentric dream. And a really genuine and effective eco-tourism project.
Hidden away like a pirate’s lair on an island covered by lush forest, mysterious ruins and shamba villages, Chole Mjini Lodge itself comprises a large wooden public area and several very quirky treehouse rooms set amidst huge baobab trees. More of a marine safari camp than a conventional beach lodge, this place is all about exploring this wonderful area with sailing, diving, walking and real cultural interaction.
Chole Mjini Lodge is not for everyone, but if you are outdoorsy, easy-going and adventurous then a stay here could well be one of the most memorable and fabulous and extraordinary things you will ever do.
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
