Kinasi Lodge is located alongside Chole Bay on the island of Mafia off the coast of mainland Tanzania.
The first major lodge to be built on the island, this British owned place has long enjoyed an excellent reputation.
The lodge itself is set amidst cashew trees on a hillside, running down to a modest beach. Central areas and guest rooms are all comfortable and well presented. There is also a pool. Activities are centred around sailing, snorkelling, diving and exploring the area on foot.
Kinasi Lodge is a really decent facility and probably offers the highest levels of conventional comforts and service on Mafia. Over the years, however, we have never found ourselves making quite as many bookings as we might have expected. The main reason seems to be that Mafia tends to appeal to a more outdoorsy guest who is more attracted to the nearby Chole Mjini, whereas those looking for a more straightforward beach lodge tend to end up staying on Zanzibar.
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
