Kisampa Lodge is located close to Saadani national park on the northern coast of Tanzania.
This lodge is situated on a private concession area adjoining the main reserve and sells itself as a community-based project which aims to offer guests a deeper and more subtle retreat type of experience. The lodge itself is quite simple but relatively comfortable, with modest public areas and seven guest rooms all being open-sided under thatch, providing a rather outdoorsy atmosphere.
Activities include gentle excursions into the main reserve, including low key vehicle safari, motorboat safari and beach picnics, whilst back at base there are walking safari and canoe safari. Guests are also encouraged to visit and engage with people in the local villages, which benefit directly from the presence of the lodge through a number of projects.
Kisampa Lodge is an unusual, quirky and inspirational project which provides a more subtle and potentially engaging African experience. Combines well with the related Chole Mjini Lodge on the island of Mafia.
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
